Aquila was honoured to contribute to the 2nd edition of the Sustainable Cruise Tourism Management Programme, hosted by Roma Cruise Terminal and the Port Network Authority of the Central Northern Tyrrhenian Sea earlier this month.

Ambra Attus represented Aquila in delivering the opening session of the first full day of training at the Vespucci Terminal in Civitavecchia. This marked the beginning of a six-day programme designed for cruise terminal managers and port authority executives from the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA).

The session focused on providing participants with an overview of the global cruise industry, with particular attention to the unique characteristics that shape cruise operations. It also emphasized the critical role of Destination Experience in the long-term success of cruise port destinations, setting the stage for the days that followed.

Throughout the programme, participants explored a wide range of topics, including sustainability, operational excellence, shore excursion development, and community engagement—fostering an open exchange of ideas and practices aimed at advancing sustainable cruise tourism in their respective regions.

Aquila is proud to have taken part in this collaborative initiative and thanks Roma Cruise Terminal and the organizing partners for the opportunity to contribute to such an impactful and forward-looking programme.
